Christmas Syrup
This ginger syrup is flavoured with cardamom, cinnamon and cloves. I used raw sugar not wholefood, I tried to prepare it with completey wholefood sugar and it wasn’t very good, and most of all it tasted like coffee
. It takes very little time to prepare this delicious syrup, can also be used as a gift, perhaps in a hamper with Christstollen.

Ingredients:
(makes 7/8 dl of syrup)
500 ml of raw sugar
500 ml of water
4 /5 tablespoons of grated ginger
2 cinnamon sticks
2 cardamom pods (use the seeds inside),
2/3 cloves
Method:
Pour all the ingredients in a saucepan and bring it to a boil; from the moment it starts boiling, let it simmer over a medium heat for 5-10 minutes. Pour the syrup through a fine cloth towel and squeeze it well. Let it cool and store it in the fridge in a brown bottle. I do not know how long you can store it, as when I make it it always runs out straight away.

What a goodness! I love this, as it seems really helpful to help digestions after Christmas binges…
I agree with EleonoraNW3, cinnamon and ginger are known for their properties in helping digestion!
