Spicy NYE Drink
where NYE means New Year’s Eve… I got the inspiration for this “recipe” from a flyer I founf at Sainsbury’s, but I slighlty amended it. Anyway, the result was nice and spicy, warm and cheerful. A good alternative to the alchool based drinks.

Ingredients:
1 litre of Ginger Ale
1 orange
1 lemon
1 teaspoon of cloves
3 cardamom pots (discard the shell, use the bits inside)
2cm of fresh ginger
1 cinnamon stick
1/2 vanilla pod
1/2 teaspoon of freshly grounded nutmeg
Method:
Squeeze orange and lemon and set their juices aside. Peel half of them and put their zest aside: be careful not to use the white part of the zest.
In a pot, pour Ginger Ale, orange & lemon juice and all the spices. Put it on the heat and bring it to a boil. Turn the heat off and let it rest for 10-15 min. Serve it hot. As the ale is sparkling, you’ll see that, when heating, it will form a lot of foam…I preferred to discard it from the pot with a ladle.
