Seitan Skewers
Yesterday evening we had a dinner at our place, because a dear friend of mine is here, I would say she’s more a sister for me, she lives in Germany and is back for a few days; so I wanted to let her taste a few vegan things (I’ll let you see them in two or three posts
) … she was thrilled! Meanwhile, among the appetizers, I prepared these skeweres, which I must say were very welcome ![]()

Ingredients:
400 gr of seitan
4 medium-small peppers
2 red onions
salt
pepper
spicy curry
nutmeg
extra virgin olive oil
Method:
The ingredients are for about fifteen skewers. Cut everything into squares, both onion and peppers, after you’ve washed and cleaned them; cut the seitan into cubes. Season the seitan well with salt, pepper, curry and a bit of nutmeg; add a little salt on peppers. In a saucepan heat a little oil and when it’s nice and hot add the seitan and sauté it a few minutes. Then, add the onion and pepper squares, mix to let them flavour and let it cook with a lid for five minutes. Don’t cook it too much, otherwise the vegetables go limp, and then it’s difficult to skewer them. Everything must remain firm. Wait for them to cool and then prepare the skewers, alternating peppers, onions and seitan, and arrange them on a baking sheet, lined with baking paper.

Here they are, again …

When it’s time to serve them switch the oven on to grill, 220-230°C for 5-10 minutes, to brown them.

A guaranteed success
