Rye and Gomasio Crackers
I got the idea last night talking with Michy, but not having the hemp flour, I fell back on rye flour, with excellent results ![]()

Ingredients:
100 gr of sourdough, refreshed the night before
200 gr of rye flour
100 gr of whole wheat flour
200 ml of water
1 teaspoon of sea salt
3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon of gomasio
Method:
Mix the sourdough with 200 ml of water, add flour, salt, oil and gomasio. Let the dough rest in a warm place for at least 3 hours. Roll the dough out on a floured surface, to get a rectangle about 4-5 mm thick. Pierce the dough with a fork and cut it with a knife, obtaining rectangles without detaching them eachother. Bake for 10 minutes in a preheated oven at 200°C. When the “big” cracker comes out from the oven, break it with your hands where the incisions are, obtaining our crackers
!

Excellent for my snacks with rye crackers, vegrino and jam. Again, this is a great saving, because a package of crackers bought at the healthy shop costs more or less 2.70 euros; this way, we get a lot of crackers with 300 grams of flour (1 kg costs approx 1.50 euros), and then, they’re homemade
!

Then, of course, you can season them as you prefer, with rosemary, cumin, pepper, salt, or even with flaxseed! With the leftover dough I wanted to make some “taralli” ![]()

For the time being I’ll stop here and wish you a good day. See you soon!
