Fried Broccoli Leaves
Ingredients:
1 bunch of fresh broccoli leaves
200 gr. allpurpose flour
a couple of tablespoons of herbs (thyme, rosemary, marjoran)
2 cloves of garlic
3 tablespoons nutritional yeast
salt and pepper
oil for frying
Method:
First, I washed my bunch of leaves and I chopped it roughly and put in colander to drain.
Meanwhile I prepared the batter: In a bowl I put a fair amount of flour, a good pinch of salt, freshly ground black pepper, three tablespoons nutritional yeast and a couple of tablespoons of dried herbs.
For those who like it, garlic can be added now.
Add water and whisk well. The consistency should be thick, not too thick but not liquid.
Boil your leaves in salted water.
Once cooked, drain and set aside to cool.
Mix in the batter and fry in very hot oil, once golden brown use some kitchen paper to dry them and enjoy 🙂
Cool! Never fried broccoli, actually I fry a very few, but it’s a nice proposal! Maybe we could also fry Brussels sprout then 🙂
