Veg Burgers
Today I had fun with another experiment, since hamburgers on sale are only “flesh” ones, or in the fortunate situation that are vegan, they come from Germany or France, I made them myself and, modestly speaking, they came out GGGGOOD 🙂
Ingredients:
(makes 11 vegburger)s
250 gr tofu
200 gr dry beans
100 gr lentils
some large sage leaves
some basil leaves
a small bunch of lemon thyme
some leaves of lemongrass
a sprig of marjoram
some pumpkin seeds
a little sunflower
shoyu (soy sauce), parsley
1 onion
2 carrots
2 ribs celery
2 garlics
Method:
First of all I soaked beans for eight hours, washed them and I let them boil with lentils for about 40 minutes.
I blended beans, lentils, onion, carrot, celery, garlic and tofu separately or in small groups, just because my blender is very small, and then I put the mixture in two different bowls.
I passed separately in the blender lemon grass with lemon thyme and marjoram with sage.
I put the first two ingredients in the grey bowl and the other two in the yellow one.
In both I added breadcrumbs, a little shoyu sauce, sunflower and pumpkin seeds.
I worked and combined very well the two mixures, and then I made small flattened balls.
From the yellow bowl they will come out veg burgers with a slightly lemon aftertaste, from the grey they won’t.
With regards to the cooking method, you can do as you want: in the oven, in a pan…
In the oven is lighter, in the pan with a little oil it gains more flavor, you choose 🙂
Once done, I put vegburgers in sandwiches, with a lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato.
You can also dress them with sauces such as ketchup, mustard and veg mayonnaise.
Alternative preparation:
Instead of creating burger shaped pellets, you can make them a little smaller, fry them into boiling oil and make delicious patties 😀
