Chinese Dumplings
Ingredients:
(serves 4, hungry )
For the dough:
250 gr of flour 00
hot water
1 tablespoon of oil
For the filling:
2 carrots
1/4 cabbage
1 onion
1 piece of celery
soy sauce
ginger
sesame seeds
Method:
Prepare the dough: flour, oil, water and salt.
Knead it for a while until smooooooooth.
Leave it to rest and in the meantime cut the vegetables into thin and fairly short strips and cook them in a pan, where we have previously sauteed onion, celery and spices.
Cook until tender.
Once the vegetables are no longer too hot, prepare the dumplings!
It was the first time I did them, and I wasn’t sure of the right thickness of the dough … it seemed very thin in the pictures on the internet (almost transparent), but I was afraid to destroy the dumplings making them too thin… I’d say, in the end, that I made them of the usual thickness of fresh pasta.
Make some circles, fill them (not too much or they will exlode while cooking), fold them in half and pinch the folded edges with both hands, to give them the typical shape. Steam for about ten minutes and…
eat!
