Almonds & Chocolate Sablè

I finally came back to Siena, I arranged my room and the pantry with all the food from Puglia 🙂 … I have got some time to post a couple of recipes before starting studying … Monday, of course! 😉
These cookies are very good and you can pick the combinations you prefer… chocolate, ginger or cinnamon, you choose!

80 gr flour 00
40 gr wholewheat flour
60 gr almond flour
80 gr margarine
60 gr sugar cane
chocolate to taste (I was the clakes to finish up, but if you want more taste it’ better to use the drops)

Work dry ingredients with softened margarine.
Form a “breadstick” big enough, wrap it with some cling fim and let it rest in the refrigerator for 5 hours.
Passed this time, cut it in 1 cm slices and bake the cookies for 10 minutes at 180°C.
Do not panic if just baked they tend to fall apart … handle them as little as possible and allow for them to cool, you will appreciate the result later :-)!
Together with the chocolate ones, I have prepared some plain (the stick forward) and other with lemon (he one to the back), following this recipe that I highly recommend if you haven’t tried yet!

The first time I’ve made them, a friend of mine exclaimed “they seem real!” … of course they do! they’re just better and are much healthier than all the packaged junk food from well known brands!).

These are some works I did…for all those who want to take some inspiration!
