Seitan with Orange


Particular and interesting taste 🙂

1 kg of oranges
400 gr of natural seitan (mine was homemade)
1 tablespoon of cane sugar

Peel the oranges in order to obtain some strips and remove the white inner peel, which I couldn’t do very well :-P.  SautĂ© the skins in a pan with a little oil, then add the sugar and enough water to cover them. Caramelize them over a low heat. In another pan, sautĂ© in oil sliced seitan, floured.  Season with salt, add a little orange juice and a bit of water, and simmer for a few minutes.  Serve garnished with caramelized skins.
Good, I honestly didn’t go crazy for it as the peels were a little bitter … but it’s a matter of taste! But my cavy-brother did appreciate it!

    This is really interesting! I did the same thing once, but without skins – just the juice. And I also added some pistachios. Well done! I’ll try your version now
