Layered Rice & Lentils

I have a book of vegetarian recipes given by a dear friend.  Occasionally “I pull the rabbit out of the hat” from it!
This recipe is very tasty, believe me! It should be eaten almost cold.

Ingredients:
(serves 2)
200 gr of lentils
150 gr of rice (I recomend you to use the one for soups)
tomato sauce
minced garlic
onion, thinly sliced
oil
1 tablespoon of vinegar
salt and pepper

Method:
Cook the lentils and boil the rice.
For the tomato sauce: sauté onion and garlic in a pan for 1 minute. Add the tomatoes and let it cook for a while. When the sauce begins to dry, add 700cc of water and vinegar; add salt and pepper and bring it to a boil again. Let it dry a bit and turn the heat off.
Arrange lentils and rice in layers on a plate, and finally add the tomato sauce.
I recommend you to eat this dish once it is warm, almost cold, because it makes it the most this way.

    Quite a simple dish but must be delicious. Lentils with grains is the best you could do: as far as I know, carboyhdrates help the proteins to be actually absorbed and metabolized by your body
