Fake pesto

It seems the classic “Pasta al pesto”, I know, but it is not!
I found this fresh pasta at the super, made of flour and water only, and I invented a sauce for it.
In my small greenhouse, where I have some pots of vegetables, waiting to start planting in the garden when the summer comes, I have some tender Swiss chard. Delicious, freshly picked, with those shiny and green leaves…
So, here there are the

Ingredients:
fresh pasta
a quarter of an orange pumpkin
Swiss chard (preferably from your garden:-))
basil
golden onion
extra virgin olive oil
salt & pepper

Method:
Peel the pumpkin, remove its seeds and “strings”; let the seeds dry! You can then plant them when the right time comes, pumpkin grows well in pots too. Slice and steamcook it. Meanwhile, place a pot full of water for pasta and add salt when it comes to a boil.
Once the pumpkin is done, steamcook the Swiss chard, then cut it into strips. Chop the onion and slightly fry it in extra virgin olive oil. Then, in the same pan, flavour the pumpkin, previously crushed with a fork, and Swiss chard. Add a few basil leaves, salt and pepper.
Blend it all with the hand blender, and season the pasta with this creamy sauce, and a few whole basil leaves.
