Artichokes in Batter


For those who don’t want to slice artichokes, here it is the solution, and is good as well!

1 cup chickpea flour
1+1/2 cup of beer
corn bread coating

Veeeeeeeeery easy! Prepare the batter with chickpea flour, salt and beer, poured in slowly. Use a whip so to avoid lumps. Remove the leaves from the artichokes, leaving the flower intact, plunge them into the batter and then pass them in the bread coating. Fry them in hot extra virgin olive oil. Serve hot or warm, perhaps accompanied by a mixed salad and French fries (not frozen !!!!).

The positive side of frying is that in the meantime you drink the beer  you opened to prepare the batter, you know … otherwise it goes flat!!

    This is a really good idea! I like the idea of preparing the batter with beer… with all the consequences… hic 😉 !

    I love artichokes! This sounds really an excellent way to prepare them, as they’re basically in their own, and frying them gives “that” something more to the dish
