Apple Tart with the Lid
I tried to make this tart as I have a sweet tooth for all the cakes made of apples. I find that they’re a very delicious fruit, and also available throughout the year 🙂 The tart I propose is not light, but very good!
Ingredients:
380 gr all purpose flour
250 gr margarine
1 pinch of salt
2 tablespoons potato starch
125 gr icing sugar
1+1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
4 large golden apples
2 tablespoons brown sugar
a tart mold, 24 cm dia
Method:
Prepare the filling by beating two apples with 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and a teaspoon of cinnamon powder (to taste). Cut the other two apples into cubes and add them into the mixture.
For the pastry: mix flour, salt, sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Add margarine and potato starch and knead until the dough is smooth and homogeneous.
Lay half the dough on the mold (it may be that the dough is very fragile: if so, roll it out with a rolling pin, cut it in half and lay the first half and then the other on the mold) with a thickness of about 5 mm. Prick the dough, pour the filling over, and then cover it with the other half.
Place it in the fridge for a hour, and then bake in preheated oven (in the middle rack), at 180°C for 50 minutes. After 20 minutes, however, cover the tart with an aluminum foil.
Remove from oven and let it cool. Enjoy it!
