Fruity Sicilian Granita
… coffe flavoured, with banana and lemon cream, and with the first cherries of our garden of course! 🙂
Ingredients:
(makes 2 glasses)
1 cup of decaffeinated coffee
1 cup water + 1 tablespoon for the cream
2 small bananas
brown sugar (optional, I’ve just put a spoon in the coffee)
1 teaspoon of lemon juice
2 teaspoons of natural vanilla essence
Method:
Mix the cup of water and coffee, sugar to taste and add vanilla. Place it in a container and leave it in the freezer overnight.
The day after, break the frozen coffee and put the pieces in the Bimby; process until it reaches the consistency typical of Sicilian granita (water-ice). Then, pour it in a glass (fill it up to 3/4).
Prepare the cream by whipping banana together with lemon and a tablespoon of water; pour it on granita and decorate with fruit as desired.
Simple, sceographic and dietetic … what would you ask for more?
Then I find that coffee goes divinely with banana. And, as I couldn’t resist, it was my pre-lunch!
A hug to everyone!

Yep, banana + coffee go very well together. I wonder how lemon works with coffee though… very curious! Have to try. I don’t have the Bimby, hope it’ll work with any food processor…?
A few years ago I’d have to pay someone for this ifnortmiaon.
