Digestive Infusion
A very easy and tasty herbal tea for bloating, cramps due to colitis, and all the general usual discomforts of the digestive tract!
It can also be prepared in large quantities, put in the fridge and drunk as a refreshing drink. I’ve been preparing this for a long time, because as a child I suffered from various conditions (which were linked to the consumption of dairy products), but being a greedey-guts, and glutton for foods which make you bloat… sometimes I feel like drinking it!
The original recipe calls for
Ingredients:
bay leaves
lemon slices
boiling water
Method:
Pour the boiling water in a cup where you have put a nice big bay leaf and a large slice of organic lemon, leave to brew for 5 minutes, covered; add a sweetener, if you like it, and drink. The effect is pretty fast, you feel relieved in just 5-10 minutes.
Comments:
I also add some chamomile flowers, fennel seeds and a tablespoon of mixed herbs (passion flower, orange, hawthorn, lemon balm) prepared by my trusted herbalist.
It then becomes my digestive and relaxing tea.
Bay – stomachic, antifermentative, for stomach pain, antispasmodic.
Lemon – purifying, anti-nausea, for indigestion and diarrhea.
Melissa – relaxing, for poor digestion.
Passion flower – sedative, tranquilizer, antispasodic, for insomnia.
Hawthorn – relaxing, for insomnia.
Orange – for insomnia, helps digestion
Chamomile – calming, helps digestion, helps sleep, antispasmodic.
Fennel Seed – helps digestion, antifermentative, relieves abdominal bloating.

absolutely helpful! unfortunately we always tent to eat too much…and even if it’s all natural and vegan some foods aren’t that “stomach” friendly
Interesting! I’d give it a try, I’ve got the same problems
