Marinara Seitan
This recipe has all the flavour of the mussels marinara-style, which is a traditional Genoese recipe, re-invented with a cruelty free mussel. Below in the comment, an important notice for all cat lovers.
Ingredients:
seitan
garlic
parsley
white wine
extra virgin olive oil
lemon
(pepper)
Method:
It’s all as in the cruel traditional recipe: pour a bit of extra virgin olive oil in a pan, then add the seitan cut in chunks. Fry it briefly and then add white wine, garlic and parsley. Let the wine evaporate and then serve, seasoned with plenty of lemon juice. If you wish, you can add a sprinkle of pepper (try also the version made with seaweeds, soaked in warm water and then chopped with garlic and parsley).
Comment:
A tip for all the “adoptive parents” of a cat: my vet has a clinic open 7 days a week (also deals with emergencies); told me that he sees almost every day at least one cat that got stuck with the head in a transom window (or up-and-over window): most of them unfortunately arrive already dead, suffocated… I didn’t know about this terrible danger in our homes and I’m trying to diffuse this info as much as possible… when there are cats around, windows should be kept open or closed, but never with the side opening locked.
