Soya Nuggets in Curry Sauce
I uncontrollably felt like having no-meat balls… but also I uncontrollably felt like having spices! Therefore, I made these little nuggets, really delicious 🙂 :-).
I served them during a dinner with meat-eaters friends… they polished them off with great voraciousness! Too bad that the doses were tight, you know… you never know if they like what you prepare, and I don’t want to have leftovers… Next time I’ll prepare a wagon-load of them, to best satisfy their taste buds 🙂 🙂
Ingredients:
40 gr of soy granules
1 potato
2 teaspoons of cornstarch
1 pinch of coriander
1 pinch of chili pepper
salt
breadcrumbs
oil for frying
1 shallot
1 tablespoon raisins
5-6 tablespoons of cooking soy cream
curry powder, to taste
Method:
First, soak soy granules according to the instructions on the package. Once soaked and cooled, squeeze it. Steam cook the potato. Once cooled, mix it with soy, cornstarch, salt, coriander and chili. Shape small balls, the nuggets, and bread coat them with bread crumbs. In a large skillet, pour a little oil and fry them, being careful not to break them, they’re very delicate. You can also bake them. In another saucepan, fry the shallot; add raisins, soaked and squeezed, fry them well, add soy cream to get your nice sauce; if seems dry, add some soy milk to dilute it. Off the heat, add curry to taste. Serve the nuggets with this sauce … and yum! eat as much as you like.
With these doses I got about twenty-five nuggets, too few for all my hungry guests… so adjust the doses according to your needs!
