Leeks + Orange Seitan

A few days ago I made seitan, with the intention of cooking it in a tempting way … and, I assure you, this one’s very inviting! Leek and orange, together, are amazing, and it’s really worth mopping up that creamy sauce with bread ! 🙂

Ingredients:
4 slices of home-made seitan
1 / 2 leek
1 orange
1 cup of white wine
1 / 2 teaspoon of cornstarch or rice flour
1 tablespoon soy butter or soy yogurt
extra virgin olive oil to taste
salt to taste
pepper to taste

Method:
Finely slice the leek and brown it in a large pan with a little e.v.o. oil. As soon as it gets well browned, add the ​​seitan slices and let them brown well. Once they took a nice colour, add white wine and blend well. Add orange juice, let it flavour and season with salt and pepper. Place the seitan on a plate. Meanwhile, add to the sauce, still in the pan, 1 / 2 teaspoon of cornstarch or rice flour, previously dissolved in a cup of cold water. This will help to avoid lumps and will make the sauce smoother. Let the sauce thicken and add a tablespoon of soy butter or soy yogurt, which will make it more creamy. Pour the sauce over the slices… and eat them, maybe not as voraciously as we did!! 🙂 Or, prepare more of it… we were two, one slice more would have been perfect:-) :-).
