Vegan Frigatelle
Another German veganized recipe!
Ingredients:
(makes 10 frigatelle)
80 gr granulated soy, not yet rehydrated
1 / 2 onion, chopped
1 handful of white flour
1 handful of breadcrumbs
salt
pepper
spice mix for roasts
paprika
garlic powder
olive oil for cooking
Method:
Rehydrate soy by boiling it for ten minutes in salted water, then let it cool and squeeze to remove the excess of water.
In a bowl, put soy, onion, flour and bread crumbs (used to give strength and crispness to the mixture), salt and all the spices. Mix well with a spoon, also pressing the mixture to make the soy adhere better to the flour, and make it very compact. Then, take a spoonful of dough and form small vegburgers, “frigatelle”, in fact (in Germany my uncle calls these patties this way!). Cook 2 minutes on each side in olive oil, just enough to make them nice and crispy on the outside. Serve with baked potatoes and salad, I add the inevitable ketchup!
Now I’ll unveil you what is that slice of bread near the frigatelle, but then it is your responsibility to do it and eat it: my Mum invented it, is a slice of bread browned in the oil used to cook the frigatelle! You’ve been warned … 🙂

seems very tasty… a bit greasy but who cares, once in a while!!! And I’ll tell you that I’ll also try your mother’s bread 🙂 then I’ll have salads for a month
OMG… they must be sooo good!!! well… I’ve got to do them, I guess 😛
Actually it’s Frikadelle(singular) and Frikadellen(plural) 😉
But frigatelle sounds tastier to me. Have to try them soon!!
