Baked Quinces
Hello everyone! Every year I happen to have, this season, some quinces, which with great regret I always have to give away, for lack of time and ability to cook… but this year I made a commitment, and I found a nice recipe on the Internet, which I propose you – with some variations!
Ingredients:
5 quinces
2 tablespoons of agave syrup (also malt, but I preferred to have a more neutral flavor)
2 tablespoons of red wine
juice of 1 orange
Method:
Wash the quinces, peel them, cut them into slices quite thin (say, 8 slices each?); put them in baking sheet with agave syrup, wine and orange juice. Mix well with your hands, so that the seasoning is distributed evenly, and bake in preheated oven at 180°C for 40 minutes, taking care to cover the baking sheet with aluminum foil. After 40 minutes, if necessary, remove the foil and keep baking 10 minutes longer. That’s it! Very easy, quick and tasty! A way to use these delicious apples without having to prepare jams or jellies! 😀

I love quinces, it’s a pity they can be found for just a little time in the year… I have to say I always make jams, or better conserves, they come out so good… I add a lot of spices. I love the idea of adding red wine, I feel it’s just what my conserves miss 🙂
Lovely! It’s a great idea, I’m curious about the red wine, how it they taste with it… But I have to wait until next October/November I’m afraid 🙁
We have a Quince tree. Will look forward to trying this. Right now I make a Quince sauce as a Thanksgiving delight with our homemade bread rolls.
