Amaranth Jewels

A jewel is forever? No, if you can eat it 😀

65 gr of amaranth
1 tablespoon of millet malt
beet juice

Heat a saucepan on the stove, and when hot pour the amaranth in, cover and let it pop, taking care not to burn it. After 5-6 minutes, once you’ve got amaranth popcorns, transfer them in a bowl, waiting to prepare the caramel. Pour the malt in a saucepan, with cinnamon and beetroot juice, and cook until caramelized. Pour the amaranth popcorn in and mix. Remove from the heat and, with wet hands, shape some pellets the size you prefer. With the help of a toothpick, pierce the pellets from side to side and insert a ribbon or a string (depending on what you have). In a short time and without spending a fortune, you’ll get a wonderful jewelry to give away to a lucky person: she can adorne herself , and even bite it 😉

At home, I only had fair trade amaranth, which has black grains amongst the others, but if you get the organic one, the effect will be much better, more compact and more pink :-). “Adorne yourself with flavors!”

Is a jewel forever? Yes, if you can keep on eating with no chance to get rid of the addiction these marvellous pralines can dangerously lead you to.
